Bike Hire FAQ

  • When are you open?
    The Duver Hire Co is a seasonal business, but we are able to offer hire of the Toyota Rav-4 all year round, subject to availability.
  • How old do I have to be to hire one of your vehicles?
    Our Insurance policy requires you to be aged between 25 and 79.
  • Are there any other restrictions about who can drive?
    Please review the following document: Please note that this is not our full list of terms and conditions. This will be emailed to you for your consideration prior to a deposit payment being paid..
  • What is the insurance excess liability on the vehicles?
    The Rav-4 has an insurance excess of £500 You will agree to this liability when you sign our terms and conditions.
  • Do you offer a Collision Damage Waiver?
    We do not offer a collision damage waiver for our cars on hire.
  • Is there a minimum hire period?
    The minimum hire period for the Rav-4 is 9am to 5pm, at a cost of £60.
  • What's included in the price?
    Your hire includes self-drive hire insurance for 2 drivers. All drivers must complete the pre-hire requirements and conform to our insurers pre-requisites and conditions of hire. Fuel will be charged upon return of the vehicle and will be based upon the mileage traveled and the cost of the fuel used. This saves you having to waste time refilling the vehicle.
  • How do I make a booking?

  • Can I bring my dog?
    The Rav-4 is dog friendly.
  • What information do I need to bring with me?
    Current valid driving licence. A recent utility bill, bank statement or council tax bill with the address matching the address shown on the driving licence. All drivers must provide a valid DVLA share code. The vehicle will not leave us without this being performed. If you do not have time to get a DVLA share code before your arrival, please make sure that you know your National Insurance number. We can then log into the system in the office.
  • Can the vehicle be delivered?
    Delivery is possible however there will be an additional charge for this. Delivery will be subject to our schedule.
  • Can I take your vehicles to the mainland?
    The RAV-4 is hired out for use on the Isle of Wight, unless mainland use and mileage is agreed prior to hire.
