A day out to Quarr Abbey and back

Unless you are out solely for some exercise, you will definitely want to give this route the time it deserves and although a half-day would suffice, you can make a full day of this route with ease.  Enjoy a beach or two on your way up to Quarr but just make sure you leave plenty of time to explore and relax at Quarr once you have arrived.   The Tea Rooms, which also serve food, are open from 10am to 5pm as a minimum each day.  The Farm shop is open from 11.15am to 5pm on Sundays and from 10am to 5pm on all other days.  Enjoy a walk around the Abbey grounds and you must check out the Pigs and see how their piglets are doing.  Quarr has a visitor center where you can learn all the Abbey's history from past to present.  On your way home you can re-provision at Sainsburys local on Union Street in Ryde.  Please always be courteous to all other path users when cycling along Ryde Seafront or between Ryde and the Abbey.  Use your bell in a friendly way to alert others to your presence.
